With cold and flu season upon us, prevention is the key.

  • Wash your hands regularly with soap and water. Doing this often is one of the best ways to prevent the spread of cold and flu germs. If no soap and water is available use hand sanitizer.
  • If you need to shake someone's hand, wash your hands or sanitize them shortly after.
  • If you have to sneeze, sneeze into your bent arm around the elbow and face away from other people or objects.
  • Keep your hands away from your face. Germs will most often find the break in your bodies natural armor around the openings in your face. Keep your fingers out of your nose, eyes, ears, mouth etc. Putting objects into these areas can also put you at risk. Prevent the spread of cold and flu germs by keeping your hands away from your face.
  • Use a fresh tissue. Don't reuse facial tissues as it is a playground for germs.
  • Get vaccinated.  Getting vaccinated  against the flu will not prevent you from getting a cold, but it can prevent you from getting the flu.
  • Stay away from crowds. If you can avoid busy public place do it. Public transportation, airplanes, malls, and other crowded places are loaded with people who could potentially infect you will a cold or flu. 
  • If you are sick STAY HOME! I know we were all raised with the notion that sharing is a good thing, but sharing our germs with others by going to works, school, and other public places is not acceptable. You can prevent the spread of cold and flu germs by avoiding contact with others. No one wants your germs so keep them to yourself.

  1. Thanks for sharing this tips, I really need to know this because I was always alone in our house and I need to clean it on my own. In our office, we have this cleaning company Melbourne and it was great in their job.
